At Deep Waters Foster Support Foundation, we believe every child deserves a loving, stable, and supportive environment to truly thrive. Founded by a local foster family who witnessed firsthand the gaps in support within the foster care system, our mission is to provide essential resources, clothing, and guidance to foster children and the families who care for them.
Our approach is rooted in compassion, understanding, and intentional care, recognizing the unique challenges that come with foster care. We operate a Foster Closet that provides free clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and everyday essentials for children from newborn through adulthood. Every item is thoughtfully offered to ensure children not only have what they need, but feel confident, valued, and seen wearing clothes that fit both their size and their sense of identity.
Beyond meeting basic needs, we are committed to building connection and support within the community. We host events such as our hair care clinics, offer caregiver support programs, and provide quarterly caregiver nights, where foster parents can bring their children for a safe, engaging environment while they take a few hours to rest and recharge.
We believe it takes a community to truly uplift families. That’s why everything we do is grounded in a culturally inclusive, trauma-informed approach, bringing together foster parents, supporters, and community members to create a network of care that surrounds each child with dignity, stability, and love.
Together, we are building something deeper; a place where children feel safe, families feel supported, and hope runs as deep as the waters we serve.
About The Founder
Hi, I’m Deana.
I’m a wife, a mom, and someone who has always felt a deep calling to serve others. For as long as I can remember, I’ve carried a heart for helping people and a desire to one day step into foster care. That calling was always present but in May of 2022, it became something I could no longer ignore.
God placed it on my heart very clearly: do it now.
From that moment on, everything began to shift.
I naturally have an analytical mindset and a strong drive to solve problems. I’m someone who sees gaps, asks questions, and looks for ways to build something better. I thrive on creating structure, organizing moving pieces, and turning big ideas into real, tangible solutions that truly make an impact.
As I began learning more about the foster care system, I couldn’t unsee the needs. Children entering care with little to nothing. Families stepping in with open hearts but limited resources. Everyday challenges that often go unseen or unmet.
I knew I couldn’t just stand by and that I had to be part of the solution.
The name Deep Waters comes from Isaiah 43:2, a verse that has carried me through so many seasons of life:
“When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you…”
It’s a constant reminder that even in the most overwhelming moments, we are never alone.
I first held onto that truth when creating Deep Waters Boutique, where I began giving back in small ways. But this foundation is something more; it’s where faith, purpose, and action come together.
Deep Waters Foster Support Foundation was created to be more than just a resource. It’s a community.
A place where children are met with dignity from the very beginning.
A place where foster families feel supported, equipped, and never alone.
A place where real needs are met in real, practical ways.
From building a mobile foster closet trailer to hosting hands-on events and creating spaces where families feel seen and supported; this is only the beginning of what we believe is possible.
I truly believe God placed this mission on my heart for a reason. I’m walking it out in faith while building it with intention, structure, and purpose.
Because no child should enter a new season of life without dignity…
and no family should walk this journey alone.
