At Deep Waters Foster Support Foundation, we believe every child deserves a loving, stable, and supportive environment to truly thrive. Founded by a local foster family who witnessed firsthand the gaps in support within the foster care system, our mission is to provide essential resources, clothing, and guidance to foster children and the families who care for them.
Our approach is rooted in compassion, understanding, and intentional care, recognizing the unique challenges of foster care. We operate a Foster Closet that provides free clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and everyday essentials for children from newborn through adulthood. Every item is thoughtfully offered to ensure children not only have what they need but also feel confident, valued, and seen in clothes that fit their size and sense of identity.
Beyond meeting basic needs, we are committed to building connections and support within the community. We host events such as our hair care clinics, offer caregiver support programs, and provide quarterly caregiver nights, where foster parents can bring their children for a safe, engaging environment while they take a few hours to rest and recharge.
We believe it takes a community to truly uplift families. That’s why everything we do is grounded in a culturally inclusive, trauma-informed approach, bringing together foster parents, supporters, and community members to create a network of care that surrounds each child with dignity, stability, and love.
Together, we are building something deeper: a place where children feel safe, families feel supported, and hope runs as deep as the waters we serve.
about the founder
Called to Serve. Built to Support.
Hi, I’m Deana! I am a wife, mom, foster parent, and someone deeply called to serve others. For years, I felt a pull toward foster care, but in 2022, that calling became clear: step in now.
As I learned more about the system, I saw the gaps: children entering care with little to nothing, and families stepping up with love but limited resources. With an analytical, problem-solving mindset, I knew I couldn’t just see the need: I had to help build a solution.
Deep Waters, inspired by Isaiah 43:2, was created to meet those needs with dignity, support, and community. From a mobile foster closet to hands-on events and resources, our mission is simple: ensure no child enters care without essentials and no family walks this journey alone.
